School Lunch Program

Good Shepherd Lutheran Child Development Center offers a hot lunch for those students who do not wish to bring their lunch.  It is administered according to guidelines set by the Department of Human Services.  Menus are devised to provide tasty and nutritious meals for the students at a reasonable price. Children who bring sack lunches will have the opportunity to heat them up in the lunch area.  However, this is only allowed for 3rd grade and up.

PTL (Parent Teacher League)

PTL meets once a month.  The PTL raises funds to purchase special items, assists teachers in various ways, and organizes special activities.  Various programs of interest to parents are provided and business meetings are conducted.  The Ministry of Parochial Education strongly supports and encourages parent participation through PTL.

Parent Participation

Parents are encouraged to participate in class activities.  Special ways that parents can become involved in class activities include being guest speakers, helping with special projects, assisting with parties, driving for field trips, and sharing special talents.

Ministry of Parochial Education (Board of Education)

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month.  They are open to teachers, parents whose children are enrolled in Good Shepherd Lutheran School, and members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  Any parent who wishes to voice his/her concerns during one of these meetings must first contact the Ministry of Parochial Education to be placed on the agenda.  The Ministry of Parochial Educationmay “close” meetings when confidential personnel matters are discussed or special “closed” meetings may be called.
