Discipline is defined as guidance and is not to be confused with punishment. Discipline is an on going process that must be tailored to meet the needs of the individual child according to the child’s understanding and stage of development. Distraction, redirection, defining and re-defining the limits of acceptable behavior in a patient and caring way, “time-out” to allow the child to regain control of her/him, are the progressive steps each teacher will take in working with a child. As needed, the Director will work with the child and/or the parent in helping the child accept guidelines in the maturation process. Learning self discipline is a necessity as the child grows toward a successful and productive adult life.

At no time will a child be subjected to verbal abuse, physical or emotional abuse, humiliation or threats.

The Child Development Center reserves the right to expel any child for inappropriate behavior.
